I will admit that my summer fitness routine hasn’t quite turned out according to plan. I went to Watino, Alberta for the summer with the goal to run at least three times per week, but that hasn’t worked out mostly because of how wet and stormy the weather was for much of July. However, I have at least kept up with my stationary boot camp-style exercise routine that I like to do on the patio outside the place where I live.
Here is how my workout routine looks like:
Upper Body
3 Rounds, 10 Reps of each set, using my 10 lb weights
Set 1
- Bicep Curls
- Standing Overhead Press
Set 2
- Chest Press
- Skull Crushers
Core
- 20 Ab Crunches
- 20 V-ups holding my 10 lb weight (both sides)
- Rocking Plank or Deadlifts (3 rounds, 10 reps)
Lower Body
* Using a medium hard resistant band for the scissor kicks and the side-lying leg raises
- Banded vertical and horizontal Scissor Kicks
- 20 Banded Side-Lying Leg Raise (both sides)
- 12 Pulsing one legged hip bridge (both legs)
